Scottish Citylink PR Pitch Success
Marksman International continues to breathe life into the profile of Scottish Citylink, Scotland’s premier passenger coach operator. In a recent pitch to the Board of Directors, Marksman delivered a clear vision on how we intend to position the brand as much more than simply a coach operator.
We pointed out that without Citylink’s visionary, Eventslink services, many of the country’s cultural treasures wouldn’t be accessed by the huge number of passengers who choose to travel by Citylink. We posed the question: “Without Citylink’s affordable and ever dependable services how many concert goers, and revellers, would be able to attend such world class gems as the Edinburgh Festival or T in-the-Park?”
The answer. Very few.
And to highlight this formidable union between man/women and machine Marksman will gain exclusive access to those extraordinary talents from the world of comedy, music and theatre, who will be plying their trade throughout the country in 2010.
Unique interviews, with the great end the good of the entertainment industry; will then be made exclusively available on the Citylink website prompting fans and media alike, to visit the site in order to find out who’s doing what, why, where and when.
Ahead of the publication of the full interviews edited versions will be published, in a limited number of titles, to drive still more visitors to the Citylink site. Just imagine, a website that entertains and informs, on the Arts, Leisure and Entertainment, whist also providing booking facilities for a national passenger transport service to all major events. Putting Citylink on the road to success
Appointed in late 2008 by Scottish Citylink, Scotland’s premier provider of express city-to-city coach services, to develop and deliver the company’s online and offline marketing communications strategies, Marksman International has now won the Irish Citylink account.
We have brought the client’s brand identity into line with that developed for Citylink Scotland over the past twelve months or so with the aim of establishing Irish Citylink as the country’s leading national coach operator.
The stunning results can be seen across a full range of marketing activities including timetables, promotional literature, press, radio, transport and outdoor advertising, ticket office signage and displays, not to mention a fresh, new-look, modern website. Marksman is also providing a range of PR services including press relations, crisis management and joint initiatives and promotions with key third-party organisations and businesses.
As part of the brief, the agency was tasked with launching a new non-stop service between Galway, Dublin City and Dublin Airport. Branded Citylink Direct, the new service proved to be a huge success with Citylink substantially increasing its market share of this lucrative route.

New staff, new horizons
Marksman is delighted to welcome three new additions to the team.
Heading-up the agency’s administrative function is Carol Davies, Senior Office Administrator. Carol joins the agency with more than eighteen years of experience in the world of advertising, PR and marketing communications.
Meanwhile, our studio has been strengthened by the arrival of two new members of staff. Stephen Goy brings a wealth of graphic design experience to what is a very busy department, whilst Karen Bryan, whose web development expertise and technical know-how is already proving to be an asset to our digital product offering.
Marksman shows Critical Path way forward
Marksman has helped a specialist UK-based engineering consultancy to reposition their business in a highly competitive global marketplace. Critical Path Limited provide wide-ranging project planning and management services, and excel in dispute avoidance and dispute resolution for major client companies, contractors and sub contractors operating in the international construction, civil engineering, process, chemical, utilities and transport markets.
However, although the company could point to a successful track-record working on major projects worldwide, awareness of the company and its service portfolio was low compared with its larger competitors.
Working closely with the client, Marksman has rebranded the company and is engaged in creating a new identity for Critical Path that will position the firm as a successful and highly experienced ‘global’ player in its chosen markets.
The new brand has already been introduced across new sales literature and the first phase of a brand-new website. Further ‘roll-out’ is planned, which will include multimedia, direct marketing and targeted PR.
Breaking new ground for Extrudakerb
Extrudakerb is one of the UK’s most successful and innovative companies specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of extruded asphalt kerbing and in-situ concrete step barrier, which is systematically replacing traditional steel median barriers across the UK’s motorway network.
Marksman was tasked with overhauling the client’s existing website and transforming the company’s online presence. The new website created by Marksman presents the image of a highly successful, progressive and dynamic market leader, whilst providing a comprehensive source of information for Extrudakerb clients and industry partners.
