Being able to access literally thousands of online tile suppliers, we now have a much larger choice of styles and sizes of tiles to choose from. Not only do we have easy access to a much wider range of floor and wall tiles, but increased competition amongst internet traders means we can pay far less for wall and floor tiles than we would have at our local tile shop.
Tile suppliers are also benefiting from having a much wider choice of wholesale suppliers. The less they pay for their tiles means they can pass the savings onto their customers, which is essential if they want to remain competitive in the market.
For those of us looking to refurbish their kitchen this is great news. We can get our hands on luxurious marble floor tiles or sparkling quartz tiles for little more than we spend on the bog standard tiles we’re replacing. Imagine how your kitchen would be transformed if you replaced the old wall paper or those cheap plastic DIY tiles with prestigious quartz wall tiles, or even marble, granite or slate wall tiles.
Some interior designers recommend having a lighter coloured floor and ceiling and darker walls in smaller spaces. This give the illusion of increased space, where the opposite can be true for very large kitchens. Having new kitchen tiles fitted isn’t like hanging a new pair of curtains which can easily be replaced if you’re not too keen on them. Choosing significantly different tiles at the last minute because the tiles you want are out of stock or you saw something else on special offer isn’t a good idea, regardless of how you may feel at the time. Obviously choosing say, quartz tiles in a similar shade to those you set your heart is a fair compromise, but deviating from your kitchen design too much will ultimately leave you disappointed.
